  1. The Reytons (Sheffield)

Some people say the Reytons are the new arctic monkeys but I think they offer a lot of originality in the genre, their new album “the kids off the estate” was supposed to release on the 24th of September but has been delayed, I guarantee that it will be worth the wait, their recent single “nothing to declare” is excellent, the bands infectious energy is going to fire them to the top.

  1. Milburn (Sheffield)

Speaking of Arctic Monkeys, Milburn were a band that rose to prominence at the same time as them and were seen as the alternative Sheffield indie band, their 2006 album “Well Well Well” is their most popular album and I very much recommend you listen it’s an absolute classic.

  1. The Sherlocks (Barnsley)

The Sherlocks have a slightly different style to the first two, which makes them stand out from other bands in the genre, similar to the Reytons they are a rising band that can only get better, their 2017 album “Live for moment” is a must listen.

  1. The Pigeon Detectives (Rothwell)

Another band that rose to prominence during the Arctic Monkeys era, The Pigeon Detectives are a Leeds area band with tons of energy, their single “Take her back” is an indie classic, the Pigeon Detectives are solidified in the indie scene for a long time and probably won’t ever be leaving.

  1. Reverend and the Makers (Sheffield)

Another band solidified in the indie scene, lead singer Jon Mcclure is close friends with Alex Turner and their careers have run side by side, their most popular single “Heavyweight Champion of the world” is another indie classic. Yorkshire has a famous indie scene and there are bands hoping to join the lineage.
