Award-winning Tv producer henry normal announces new live poetry tour

Finally, after 30 years, BAFTA award winning writer and producer returns to his first infatuation: poetry. With his first love of poetry Henry Normal is starting a live tour in October 2021

Touring all over the country, over 40 years of work including jokes, poems and stories Henry normal BBC 4 radio series will be joining his new live show “the escape plan” and his ten books dedicated to poetry. An example of his dedication to his work are his two newest additions written during the pandemic “The beauty within shadows” and “Distance Between Clouds” to resemble Henry’s perspective on this unusual period. As a whole they reflect about the many aspects of lockdown, love, and the overall experiences of life. Taking inspiration from bringing up his son Johnny past stories between them is a key part to the live show and all the latest books produced by Henry himself. 

As well as his live tour in autumn, Henry also hosts online poetry sessions via his “new poetry society” every week. During this he is joined by a guest poet to enjoy poetry together and have energetic conversations. These are hosted by the Manchester library programme and can be joined by anyone all over the world for free of charge.

Before his tv career, Henry Normal toured as a performance poet with Pulp and new wave bands including Linda Smith, literary giants including Seamus Heaney. Now returning to his poetic roots, Henry takes his new 90 minutes show to theatres all around the Uk for his major tour - a chance to see ‘The Alan of poetry”.
