Yesterday, November 10th, Pfizer announced that a vaccine had been made for COVID 19, and they stated that it is 90% effective.

This vaccine is a milestone, and some good news! Though a vaccine has been developed, it is uncertain as to when people will be able to have it, as well as which people will be prioritised to have the vaccine first.

As all this information is new, it is merely a relief to see that there is a form of protection in the works, generating a feeling of hope amongst everyone. It could be that, after more testing, some people receive this vaccine towards the end of the year, ensuring that those who need it the most get it as soon as they can. After this, more people will be able to access the vaccine. However, as a final decision is yet to be made, we do not know what is going to happen.

There are many unanswered questions as to how long immunity will last, or if it means you will not get any symptoms, as well as questions asking if it will work for everyone. These questions will be around for a while as the vaccine is still in testing, but this news is a great turning point and will make some amazing improvements that we’ve not yet seen during the pandemic.
