The Rosadocs, an upcoming indie and alternative local band from Sheffield, is just another one of the many small bands effected by the current pandemic. We got in touch with Adam Sleight, one of the four members of the band, to gain an insight into how they’re juggling music with lockdown.

Did lockdown restrictions have any sort of impact on the band?

Initially we thought that it would be over and done with pretty quickly, we never envisaged it going on for as long as it has done, we’ve had to cancel our entire debut UK tour and put other plans on hold. It’s a shame because we really started to gain some traction after our big Leadmill show.

Has the band been working on any plans or projects throughout lockdown?

We’ve actually been really busy throughout lockdown, we demod a few tunes from our individual houses then did a final mix ready for when we were allowed to return to the recording studio. Other than that, we’ve been busy building our social media presence up and have gained quite a lot of new fans through it.

What effect do you think this pandemic has had on upcoming and small bands?

The pandemic is really going to affect bands such as ourselves and even bigger bands, it’s not so much about the bands not being able to get together its more about the long lasting effects, were losing a lot of music venues and without them no one can gig once all this is over.

Do you have anything in store for after lockdown?

Once lockdown is over and we can get out again first and foremost were going to be doing another massive Sheffield show, leading out into a tour to promote our new EP ‘Two Wrongs Make a Riot’. It’s our biggest project yet and something we worked on throughout lockdown so we really hope everyone enjoys it. There’s some of our best tracks yet on it!
