The legendary PlayStation hit ‘The Last of Us’ has been remade just in time for the TV show, after the original game came out in 2013 for PlayStation 3 and the remastered version of the game coming out in 2014 for PlayStation 4.
Naughty Dog has done it again creating yet another remaster of the game for PlayStation 5 allowing new and old fans to enjoy the story of The Last of Us with improved graphics. With the creators saying “Having the opportunity to remake one of the most beloved games of all time was both a tremendous honour and a daunting challenge. I am extremely proud of the work this team has done, remaining faithful to the original vision of The Last of Us while expanding it beyond what was possible on the original hardware."

Since the PlayStation 5’s release there has been multiple games remade to have better quality and better gameplay, ‘The Last of Us’ being no different. Costing £69.99 the new Last of Us has been rebuilt from the ground up to suit the PlayStation 5. With better graphics and smoother gameplay, the Last of Us remake is an entirely different experience for players but still the same lovable story.
Since its release in 2013 The Last of Us has become one of PlayStations most popular games. Following Joel, a survivor of the post pandemic world and Ellie, a young girl with her own struggles as they are forced together and forced to travel across America in hopes of finding a future for humanity. Since the games release there has been a remaster, a DLC and a second game following an older Ellie.
From the original game to the remake there is a massive difference in graphics allowing characters to become more lifelike and to show true emotions. The already amazing settings in the game look even better with the new updated graphics showing more detail and realism. Despite the graphic improvement some people dislike the new way that some characters look like some facial structures have been changed in the remake.
If you are a proud owner of a PlayStation 5, the Last of Us remake is worth buying allowing players to experience the game with enhanced graphics from the characters to the settings. The new remaster also comes with an enhanced photo mode similar to ‘The Last of Us 2’s and a model viewer. The developers of the Last of Us remake have been praised for making the game more accessible with over 60 accessibility options the game is playable to anyone. Geoffrey Bunting (writer for the Washington post) said “for disabled gamers ‘The Last of Us Part 1’ remake is worth £70”
So, is the last of us remake worth buying? I certainly think so.
