The current plans to ease lockdown on June 21st have been delayed for 4 weeks as Boris has just delivered his press conference on the situation at hand and the fate of the country. With rules on weddings and the vaccine
Boris has held a press conference stating that he will delay the final lockdown easing for 4 weeks until July 19th unless a “far more dangerous” variant emerges. Michael Gove also stated that only ‘unprecedent and remarkable’ change would derail the June 19th date.
With this change many people are confused about what they can or can’t do from 21st of June to 18th of July. Many things are still the same but there are some changes to weddings and funerals. Most outdoor social contact rules have been lifted but gatherings more than 30 are still illegal.
There is still allowed up to 2 households indoors as well as indoor hospitality being opened. People can also make a personal choice on whether to social distance from family and friends. As of weddings the 30-person limit at weddings will be scrapped but the rules on no singing and dancing will remain, people must also sit on tables of up to six people.
Funerals also no longer will be limited to 30 people. Pilot mass gathering events will continue including the euro 2020 at least 40,000 fans will be allowed at final dour matches at Wembley. Care home residents also won’t have to quarantine for 14 days after their day visits.

At 10:12 Sir Simon Stevens chief executive for NHS England has said all adults in England can now book jabs by the end of the week. Over the next four weeks the NHS will ‘finish the job’ of the vaccine programme to the greatest extent possible, and that by the new date July 19th they aim to have offers perhaps two thirds of adults across the country double jabs.
23- to 24-year-old can now book the vaccine through the national booking service and by the end of the week he aims for the booking service to be available to all adults aged 18 and above.
