It is now time to get more and more people protected from the virus before the winter season which is when viruses and usually at their worse.
Although giving the vaccination to the secondary school children age won’t stop the virus circulating it can help get more children into school and keep them in school. Jake-14 from Essex says: ‘I am proud that I have had my vaccination and it was quick, easy and painless’.
Jacks mum says she is relieved he has had it done. She also says: ‘there has been a lot of mental health issues during the coronavirus lockdowns, home schooling and isolations and I am so happy for the students to be able to have a safe normal life again’. Parental consent is not needed for the students to have the vaccine and it is their choice. Chief medical officers have said younger teenagers should be offered a single doe of the Pfizer vaccine. As well as schools, colleges are also offering out the vaccine on certain days.

Dr Nikki Kanani GP and deputy lead for the NHS covid-19 vaccine programme, said: “The vaccine is safe and effective, and I would urge families to get their loved ones and themselves vaccinated ahead of the winter period.”
