The peace gardens in Sheffield are well known to the locals, and are visited by many every year. Since the 1930’s the peace gardens have had many makeovers over the years with a new one being funded now.

The heart of the city development will be receiving funding up to six million pounds to create a new alfresco dining area with the aim to attract more members of the public to visit and spend time at the peace gardens.
The Star has put out the upcoming plans for the peace gardens in Sheffield, “Plans include a landscaped pocket park on the Block G area including a cycle hub; a small square on Carver Street with seating terraces for adjoining cafes and civic space and expanding the Peace Gardens between the Town Hall and proposed Radisson Blu hotel on Pinstone Street”
In the Sheffield Star newspaper, Douglas Johnson expresses the need for more green spaces in the city centre “there aren’t that many nice places in Sheffield city centre to sit quietly”
I believe that with the new plans for the peace gardens it will encourage more and more locals to adventure outside and enjoy a breath of fresh air. Especially under the current circumstances, being outside and in the open can be very beneficial for your health.
