South Yorkshire to take on rapid Covid-19 testing. Results in 60 minutes!

Homes in South Yorkshire are preparing to have rapid testing introduced so that the government can control the number of rapidly growing cases in South Yorkshire.

The government and the NHS have joined together to introduce a new way of controlling the virus so that they can eliminate larger threats of Covid in the south of Yorkshire. They are saying that the results are to come to you within the hour and are going to help find hidden transmitters of the virus.

The South Yorkshire director of mental health says, "I'm acutely aware that there is a need to break the chain”. They believe that the testing scheme will help identify cases before the person has any visible symptoms and then can self-isolate accordingly. They also believe the scheme will help get a grip on later cases as they decrease with this new system in place. The reasoning for the testing scheme is said to be that they have noticed a significant rise in south Yorkshire that they’ve not seen anywhere else across the country.
