Tragic attack in Barnsley

On Saturday September 4th at 10:30 in Pitt Street west Barnsley a 60-year-old man was attacked. The man later died in south Yorkshire hospital four days after the attack it is said he was taken to hospital in critical condition.

Ricky Braithwaite, a 38 old man from Newton Street was shortly arrested after the incident and was later charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm he has since then been baile, he is due to appear in course on the 5th October. Police have said that enquiries are still underway.

A fundraising page has been set up in Graham Linstead’s memory with more than £600 already donated to be split between three good causes chosen by his family. James gale was the one who set up the appeal he stated that he wanted to

“bring some good and benefit for others if possible"

Witnesses or anyone with information have been asked to call police. People described him as having the “biggest heart” and “wisdom beyond all others” and was a “ true gentleman”.
