The Olympic games that were cancelled in 2020, were set to go ahead this summer in Tokyo, and as it stands they still are, however there is a huge question mark of the Olympic games going ahead
The COVID situation in the host country is very worrying and many of the host villages are threatening to and may already have pulled out, creating a big issue regarding the Olympians housing situation while competing in the games. It has been reported that many athletes may only stay 24 hours or so in the host country, leaving and entering the country to compete and go home again.
The whole situation may be ever so frustrating for the athletes as well as the fans of the Olympic games. After preparing for two years in a row for the games to possibly be cancelled, you can understand the frustration that many may be going through. The games are set to start on Friday the 23rd July and are set to end on Saturday the 8th August, with the Paralympics starting on the 24th August and finishing on Saturday the 5th September, with the Paralympics in the same situation as the Olympics.

Although there are many exciting athletes in the United Kingdom, it is unlikely that they will bring home as many medals as in the past. As the outstanding achievements of the United Kingdom in the last Olympics to come second in the table, will definitely be the aim for the United Kingdom team.
