Barnsley welcomed Blackburn Rovers to Oakwell Stadium on Saturday 18th September. Strong sides for both teams with Cauley Woodrow captaining the Reds.

The goalless draw left Barnsley falling to 19th in the Championship with Blackburn rising to 6th, getting into a playoff place after 8 games have been played.

Both sides looked a little off it all game, with both teams having moments where maybe they could’ve snatched a win. A moment of goalkeeping excellence from Rovers shot stopper Thomas Kaminski denied Clarke Oduor and Barnsley mid-way through the opening half.

Ben Brerton Diaz had the best chance of the game for the visitors when he was played through one on one by Reda Khadra mid-way through the second half, but he was let down by a poor first touch that took him too close to Collins in the Barnsley goal.

Although both sides had chances to claim it, a draw was probably deserved for both sides with an even game been played out by both sides.
