Diaz returns to the Chilean squad for World Cup qualifiers
Ben Brereton Diaz is set to return to the Chile squad for their upcoming World cup fixtures against Peru, Paraguay and Venezuela. He missed the last round of international fixtures due to the EFLs COVID-19 restrictions. Blackburn have reached an agreement with the Chilean football federation ahead of this October international break.
Diaz himself revealed in an interview that he will hopefully feature in all of the fixtures for his country, before returning to play in Blackburn’s fixture at home to Coventry on Saturday October 16th. Ben will play 4 games in a week, taking full advantage of the international window. He will have to isolate in a hotel for 10 days upon his return to England but he can attend training and games for Rovers.
He will be hoping to add to his singular goal scored in his first handful of games for Chile in the Copa America last summer. He will be hoping to carry his outstanding form for Rovers into his games away with Chile. He has scored 10 goals in the opening 11 games of the Championship season.
