Just seven months ago Doncaster Rovers sat 3rd in league one after a 3-2 victory over fellow promotion contenders Oxford, seven months later they have won 5 games out of 31 and sit bottom of League one this season after being thumped 6-0 by Ipswich at Portman road, they lost their manager Darren Moore to Sheffield Wednesday and interim manager Andy Butler couldn’t stop the rot as they finished 14th.

a fresh start was needed and it came with the appointment of former player Richie Wellens as manager, but the lack of funds meant all the new signings were free transfers and loans and a lack of firepower upfront has cost them dearly so far this season with only 4 goals scored, with signings like Tiago Cuker on loan from Watford failing to make an impact, they finally hit rock bottom last night as midfielder Lee Evans fired in a hat trick along with a brace from Macauley Bonne and a goal from centre back George Edmundson blew away rovers. The inquest has officially started this early in the season as relegation is looking a real possibility with the way the team are playing.
