Kevin Sinfield did it all in the world of rugby league, but his most impactful work is coming off the field. Sinfield has been doing fundraising challenges to raise money for research into MND for his great friend and teammate Rob Burrow who got diagnosed back in 2019.

The challenge was to run from Leicester up to Leeds which would come to 101 miles in 24 hours.

The former Rhinos player set out a target of £100,00 but already got to that target before he set off. In the end he has raised over £1m. this added to the £2.7 million he raised from the 7 marathons in 7 days will provide life changing research into MND and to build a special MND centre in Leeds to help with people who suffer from the disease.

Sinfield ran throughout the night whilst being cheered on by members of the public and after the challenge Sinfield said “the support along the route has been incredible right from the start” Though it will be some time before Sinfield can do another challenge as he said “I’m broken, I don’t know when I’ll be able to run again”

As he ran through Headingly stadium he was greeted by hundreds of fans in the stands and then also by Rob Burrow who had this to say about his former captain. “Today is an amazing day for the whole community and will benefit every sufferer.” "Lastly, to my amazing friend Kev, you don't realise the impact you have had on me and the whole MND community."
