The two kings of football. Two men who have been at the top of football for the last ten plus years may have played each other for the last time.
Ronaldo now playing for Juventus, faced up against Messi’s Barcelona. Barcelona have been struggling ever since their humiliating 8-2 defeat to Bayern Munich during last season’s Champions League. Juventus were not going into this game on good form though either as they currently sit 4th in the Italian First division.

However, it was the Ronaldo and Messi who took the spotlight going into this game. Ronaldo opened the scoring following a rather soft penalty decision. And not long after Juventus found themselves two goals to the good with a lovely move finding Weston Mckennie open in the box to finish in acrobatic style making a first place finish even more possible for Juventus. In the second half another penalty was awarded to Juventus following a handball from Clement Llenglet. Ronaldo once again stepped up and made it 3-0 to Juventus and it looked like Ronaldo would be taking the spotlight in the battle of the kings.
This win took Juventus top of their group going into the knockout stages, which they could have only done with a three-goal win or more. But despite this poor performance from Barcelona, Messi showed why he is at the top with Ronaldo and created more chances than anyone. Unfortunately this Barcelona team seems to be nowhere near at the top of its game. And Messi was the only player capable of doing anything which in the end gave Juventus a comfortable win.
