Rotherham season so far...

Having played 21 games so far in league 1, sitting in first with 44 points, the 2021/22 season has seen an impressive Rotherham side that will now surely carry on their form for the remainder of the season.

With an impressive 13 wins, 5 draws, and only 3 losses, there doesn’t seem to be much room for improvements, however, Paul Warne’s side have sometimes lacked the finishing touch in a few matches, costing them points against both Oxford United and Lincoln City, which could have both been wins instead of draws if chances were taken.

Although, with Rotherham being top of the table currently, the criticism is limited, with the majority of the team putting in solid performances week in week out. The main reason for this being that the 3 back system has been working well for Paul Warne, with the 2 wingers being wing-backs looking to cross the ball into the tall, physical strikers that Rotherham have.

With us now heading ever so close to the January window, the form can surely only mean one thing, the interest will be from other clubs eying up millers players.

Last month there were claims that Rotherham United representatives were present at a Notts County match, monitoring Portuguese forward Ruben Rodrigues.

However, the focus will surely be to keep the team together as much as possible, to stick with a well-gelled team to keep the title hope going, with the rest of the top 4 all sitting 2 points behind, with 42 points.

Rotherham face 2 away trips next, first visiting a slightly struggling Cambridge, before heading to Accrington Stanley on boxing day, and with Accrington picking up some form lately, finding themselves up into 10th, this match is sure to be a great test for both sides, and one that will either help Rotherham stay top, or keep Accrington in the running for play-offs.

With 25 games to go, Rotherham just need to keep up the winning form, and they’ll surely find themselves in the championship next year.
