The owls stormed into a 0-3 lead at Accrington with goals from Chey Dunkley, Theo Corbeanu and Florian Kamberi. Dunkley gave the Owls the lead on 13 minutes heading in a Bannan corner.

Theo Corbeanu then played a one two with Liam Palmer and rifled the ball into the net to double Wednesdays lead. It was three tow minutes later as Florian Kamberi lobbed the ball over James Trafford to seemingly put Wednesday out of sight but any Wednesday fan would tell you that wasn’t going to be the case and Accrington clawed their way back with goals from Lewis Mansell and Joel Mumbongo either side of half time which put a seemingly easy victory into doubt but Wednesday managed to hold on for a vital victory at the Wham Stadium this was followed up by another massive victory against fellow promotion contenders MK Dons at Hillsborough as they came from behind to win for the first time since December 2019.

Scott Twine had given MK the lead on 47 minutes with a brilliant half volley that flew into the top corner, Wednesday pushed for an equaliser and were denied a penalty when Lee Gregory was upended in the box after Jack Hunt had hit the post, but the equaliser finally came on 83 minutes when Gregory headed in a Josh Windass corner. It was the least that Wednesday deserved for their performance but It got even better in the third minute of added time as Windass returning from injury for his first game of the season smashed the ball into the net on the second attempt for a dramatic winner.
