An internet-breaking boxing match between YouTube star turned boxer Jake Paul and pro boxer and Love Island 2019 contestant Tommy Fury is set to take place on December 18th. The pair have been through months of internet feuds with complaints about contracts and insults thrown, however the main principles of the contracts for the long-awaited fight seem to have been agreed, now fans just wait for the official word.

After fighting on the same card in late August, both winning their respective fights, fans seemed to think that by doing so it would set up a future fight between the two. Words were exchanged backstage between Tommy and Jake with both seeming keen on a future fight. With both fighters undefeated (Paul 4-0-0) (Fury 7-0-0), it makes for an intense fight with both fighters putting a lot on the line. Heavyweight ‘King’ Tyson Fury, half-brother of Tommy, has told his brother to change his name if he loses to Jake with his dad also saying he is ‘finished’ if he loses the fight, adding all the more pressure to the Englishman. However, Jake Paul seemed to take some pressure off himself with a tweet claiming to have ‘retired’ from boxing after beating UFC legend Tyron Woodley in the summer, however fans took this as him announcing a small break, which was potentially used to keep fans guessing with Jake looking to return to the ring in just 2 months. With both fighters with 7 knockouts in total, the fight is set to be one of the biggest in internet history with fans divided on how the fight will end.

Internet boxing events are growing, with Social Knockout 2 taking place last week in Dubai and the unsuccessful Social Gloves in July of this year. KSI has not returned to the ring since his November 2019 fight with Logan Paul, seemingly focusing on his music.
