Upcoming fixtures for South Yorkshire clubs

Starting off with Sheffield United, and the Blades seemed to be starting a run after the slow start to the season, going on to win 3 out of 4 league games, however since then have lost to both Middlesbrough and Bournemouth. Saturday sees the blades back at home taking on Stoke, who have had a strong start to the season, currently sitting in 4th. Slaviša Jokanović will be hoping his men can pick the form back up and get back to winning ways. The last time the clubs met saw the Blades promoted to the premier league after a 2-2 draw in 2019.

Barnsley FC, also in the Championship, however struggling at the bottom of the league. Currently sitting in the relegation zone, Barnsley need to pick up some points, and fast. Having only won 1 league game so far, drawing 5, and losing 5, the reds aren’t having the start they hoped for. Heading to Reading on Saturday, who have won 4 of their last 5 games, won’t be an easy task to grab all 3 points, however Barnsley fans can hope, and who knows, they might just pull it off.

Now looking down in league 1, and Sheffield Wednesday are now sitting 9th after picking up all 3 points against Bolton. The Owls will look to continue this form and put in a performance away at AFC Wimbledon, who haven’t had the best of performances lately, having lost 3 of their last 4 games.

Also down in league 1 sit Rotherham, who have been having a great season so far, sitting 5th after winning 3 of their last 5, whilst also going unbeaten. The millers will want to keep this impressive run up when they host Portsmouth on Saturday, a team that love to go forward and attack.
