Here are some of the names that have been linked with the Newcastle United Vacancy.
Paulo Fonseca
The former Roma boss has been heavily linked with the job over the last few days. According to Fabrizio Romano the Portuguese is open to discussions with Newcastle’s new owners about taking over at St James’ Park. He has before taken charge at Roma, Shakhtar Donetsk, Porto and Braga. He was also close to joining Tottenham Hotspur in the summer before talks broke down. He is also known for playing an attacking style of football which would excite the Newcastle faithful.
Lucien Favre
Another option which is being linked to the job is former Dortmund boss Lucien Favre. According to the bookies he is favourite for the job at 8/13. He has previously managed at the likes of Nice, Hertha BSC, Borussia Monchengladbach, and Borussia Dortmund. He is also known for playing attacking football and his tactical nous. He was previously close to joining fellow English side Crystal Palace in the summer before a change of heart from the Swiss manager.

Antonio Conte
An appointment which would show great ambition from the new owners would be Antonio Conte. Yes, this is unrealistic at this point, but the Italian would bring a wealth of experience as he has won trophies with the likes of Chelsea and Juventus. The 52-year-old has won five top flight titles since 2011. Fabrizio Romano has said the Italian has not held talks with the Newcastle board yet.
If you were the new Newcastle owners, who would you appoint to succeed Steve Bruce on Tyneside?
