Wimbledon v Wednesday Review

It’s going to be a double review today as Sheffield Wednesday got two extremely frustrating draws at Wimbledon on Saturday and Cambridge last night, first up was the game in south London at Wimbledon’s brand new stadium across the road from their old stomping grounds on Plough Lane, the first half was a bit indifferent but the owls took the lead through a quality finish from Lee Gregory, the owls started the second half with intensity and could have been 4 or 5 nil up before Lewis Wing was pushed in the back when going for a header in the box which the referee deemed as a foul and a penalty was given, Gregory stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way to double the owls lead, even after the second goal the owls could of scored more as Dele-Bashiru and Wing missed chances to extend the lead, the owls looked the most comfortable they have been this season but every Wednesday fan knows that there is never a comfortable moment watching Wednesday and one goal changed everything as NestaGuiness-Walker fired in on the rebound, this totally changed the game and the owls were on the back foot straight away and the writing was on the wall, with five minutes left Jack Rudoni nipped in at the back post to complete the comeback, it keeps the worrying trend going that has been a problem for Wednesday for years, it seems that the mentality within the players needs to change.
