In the summer transfer window of 2009, Walker joined London side Tottenham Hotspur alongside fellow defender Kyle Naughton for a combined fee of £9 million. The following season, and in every season since, he has been something of a regular in the Everton side, enduring his best scoring season with the toffees in the 2020-21 season that has just come to an end, with 16 goals.
