After nearly 10 years Ashley Young has returned to Aston Villa

Villa secured the 35 year old left back on a free transfer from newly crowned Italian champions Inter Milan.

He joined the Villains back in 2007 and played over 150 games for the club and scoring 30 goals during his time. A move to Manchester United was next up for the Stevenage lad. He moved for around £17 million. He spent 9 years at the red side of Manchester appearing 192 times and scoring 15 goals. In that time, he played under Van Gaal and Jose Mourinho before Ole came to the wheel.

Young was named Captain in 2019 after signing a new contact.

On the 17th of January 2020 he signed for Inter Milan for around £1.5 million. He became one of three Premier league players that Inter signed in that transfer window with Victor Moses and Christian Erikson also joining. He played 44 games and scored 5 goals and 8 assists.

Then it was reported on the 17th of June he would return to the Midlands on a one-year contract. He will provide good backup to both fullbacks and could even challenge Matt Target for the Left Back spot in the upcoming season.
